About James
March 29, 2010
One of our sponsored children for Warren World 2010 is 8-year-old James Strong from Birmingham, AL. James is suffering from Hydrocephalus and Cerebral Palsy. During his short life, he has had 19 surgeries on his brain to relieve the fluid surrounding the fragile brain tissue, by having shunts inserted. His mother, Kim Mitchell, is a single mother and works as a Special Education Teacher with the Fairfield City School System. She is currently fighting cancer herself while caring for her son. Due to problems with the shunts, James has had up to three surgeries in one week and months long stays in the hospital.
