Nathan Eslami is a local child suffering with LangerHans Histiocytosis. Nathan turned one year old on June 30, 2006 and had spent the majority of his first year in hospitals and had undergone five different types of chemotherapy, had his spleen removed and had bone marrow and blood platelet transplants. Already his medical bills have topped 3.5 million dollars. For the transplants, Nathan and his parents had to travel to Minnesota and had to be away from home and family for an extended period of time.
Nathan’s parents, Mary Ann and Shirokh Eslami, are co-owners of The Southside Market, a small corner store on Birmingham’s Southside. They never fail to greet you with a kind word and smile despite their trials.
**UPDATE: January 19th 2007 - I have just been informed that Nathan Eslami, one of the children that Warren World and all of the loving volunteers helped raise money for, has just this week been given a CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH!!! He is now on his way to full health! Woohoo!!!
He will have to go back occasionally for testing and check ups but other than that he is fine!
Very special thank you to all of you who helped with thoughts, words, and deeds. Even though he is better, we are still taking donations. The financial stress of his illness is not over.
Now we just need the same news for Ke-Ke!!
Please contact Marian Henderson at Warren World, Inc for more about how YOU can help!
