The original 3rd Annual Warren World Benefit was held as a neighborhood Block Party this year on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 17th Avenue S. (between the intersections of 11th Place S. and Cullom St.). In addition to community members that volunteered to help, several bands volunteered to play. Children (and adults alike) had their faces painted by Anna Allison and Angie Anderson. Wine was offered in exchange for a donation courtesy of MBC United Distributors, Inc.

4:00 p.m. - Wellness...a new conglomeration of well-known local musicians: Jeff Lopez (of the band Goodfellas and formally of Taylor Hicks' band) Keith Knox (...) Desiree Fitts, a.k.a. "Peanut" (of the band Mother May I, a solo artist, and founder of Birmingham's annual Chicks Rockfest www.myspace.com/birminghamchicksrockfest) Elnora Spencer (Alabama Blues-based veteran vocalist)

Dine, Dance, Drink and Donate; a Warren World Benefit for "Ke-Ke"
The November 5th, 2006 event was held at (Local) Restaurant and Cocktail Bar in the Vestavia City Center. Award winning Chef, Anthony Marini donated his restaurant for the event and provided a buffet. MBC United Distributors donated wine. Sysco Foods has also helped with donations of food that Chef Marini prepared. Entertainment was provided by international touring artist, David Anderson. David Anderson was a member of the award winning band Brother Cane, has toured with Be Be and Ce Ce Winans and appears on the Gold record of Brian McKnight. There was a Silent Auction at the event with such items as a "One-Of-A-Kind" Daisy Rock guitar (donated by Daisy Rock Guitars), art, photography, gift certificates, and more!

**The November event's proceeds went to assist with a local Birmingham child's (Tykesha Townsend) medical care. Tykesha (a.k.a. "Ke-Ke") is the 6 year old daughter of Gail and Lonnie Townsend, Jr.**
